with clay
Hand-modeling workshops in the Balat atelier. No wheel, no hurry — just clay, your hands, and tea served in cups that were made exactly this way.
Small groups, slow hands
Sessions are limited to six guests and last around two and a half hours. You will pinch, coil and press a piece of your own; we dry, fire and glaze it at 1240 °C over the following weeks.
Finished pieces can be collected at the studio or shipped worldwide in our plastic-free packaging.
Wedging
We start at the bench — pushing the air out of the clay until it moves like something alive.
Hand-modeling
No wheel. Pinch pots, coils, slabs — the oldest techniques there are, taught at a Balat pace.
The firing
Your piece joins the studio kiln at 1240 °C. We send a photo the morning it comes out.
Reserve an afternoon
No payment is taken online — we confirm each session personally, by email, within two days.
